Anna U Ruddy

Anna U. Ruddy, 94, of Eatontown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown surrounded by her family. She was born in Essen, Germany and came to the United States in 1926 settling in New York City. She resided in Brooklyn for many years and has been a resident of Eatontown since 1969. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Manufacturers Hanover Trust, New York for 25 years retiring in 1969. After her retirement, she worked part time at the Eatontown Memorial School for several years. Anna enjoyed cooking, traveling and her weekly bus trips to Atlantic City. Anna "Boom - Boom" will be remembered fondly for her quick wit and plum cake. Anna was predeceased by her parents, Gerhard and Elizabeth Ullenboom and her husband Frank Ruddy in 1982. Surviving are two sons; Gerald F. Ruddy and Robert E. Ruddy, two daughters; Ann Bobe and husband Felix ,Tricia White and husband Bob; five grandchildren; Andrew, Cyndi, Matthew, Stephen and Katie , and six great-grandchildren; Devon, Samantha, Alexis, Zachary, Nicholas and Jaidyn. Private services were held on Saturday January 5, 2013 at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Donations in her memory may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, 264 Wall Street, Eatontown, N.J. 07724. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Gateway Care Center and Grace Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
