Ellsworth Chuck Britton

October 30, 1942 - November 27, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ellsworth (Chuck) Britton of Bonita Springs, Florida on Saturday November 27, 2021, at the age of 79 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou; his children C. Scott Britton (wife, Nancy Britton), Stacey Britton Gordon, Jason Britton (wife, Cristy Britton); his grandchildren Nicole Punt, Alex Britton, Dani Britton, Sami Britton, Danielle Gordon Halim, Kaiya Britton, and Noah Britton; his sister Barbara Hamernick and her children; his sister-in-law Karen Britton and her children. He will also be dearly missed by his long-time travel and golf friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Helen Britton, and his brother Jim Britton. Chuck was born in Long Branch, NJ and raised in Eatontown, NJ. He retired from UPS in 2002. He was a charter member of the Eatontown Elks 2402 and a lifetime member of the Eatontown Fire Department and served as chief in 1972. In his later years he was the starter at the Hominy Hill Golf Club. Chuck had many passions in life, including traveling all over the world with his family and friends playing golf regularly. But his biggest passion in life was his love and support for his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, pop pop, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. Chuck will be missed by all. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ. A memorial service will be 10:00am on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery and Mausoleum, Oceanport.
