John A. Tracy

November 20, 1937 - May 20, 2022

John “Jack” Tracy, a veteran of the Air Force, son of Joseph and Anne Tracy passed away on May 20, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy, née Gatto. John was the youngest of 5 children. His father was a WWI veteran. John was predeceased by his three brothers, all veterans of WWII, and a sister, Virginia. John enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and was assigned to the elite Air Traffic Control school at Kessler AFB. He was stationed in Waco, TX, then assigned to Ben Guerir AFB in Morocco. He was honorably discharged in 1960 and was hired by the Federal Aviation Agency Air Traffic Control (ATC) center Idlewild Airport, NY. John also worked at Andrews AFB, MD. He was assigned to the FAA installation team that installed the latest radar systems at all ATC centers on the east coast. John transferred to Fort Monmouth and began his career with the Small Business Administration (SBA) working up the ranks to Regional Director. John retired after 31 years of government service. His retirement was brief, and he was next employed at Waste Management Company for several years until he retired for good. John and his loving wife, Kathy, traveled and vacationed often in South Carolina, Florida and their local favorite, Cape May. John is survived by his son John (Lauren), daughter Beth Ann (Dan), and Tim (Tricia) as well as his four grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Zack, Nicole, Tyler and Julia. John will be privately laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or an organization that supports our veterans.
