Maureen M. Tegethoff, 67, of Tinton Falls, passed away on Sunday November 20, 2016 at New York University Hospital in New York. She was born and raised in Monroeville, PA the oldest child of the nine children of John and Muriel McNamee. Her passion for helping people became evident at an early age, helping to raise her 8 brothers and sisters. She graduated Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. Continuing on to earn a BS degree in Biology in 1979 from Monmouth University. She went on to earn a MS degree from Kean University in Holocaust and Genocide Studies in 2010. She was married in 1970 to Ron after they attended their high school prom together in 1967. They moved to New Jersey after their honeymoon and raised their children in Tinton Falls. Maureen was a dedicated nurse. Beginning in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Magee Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh. Upon to moving to NJ she went to work at Riverview Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit. She then went to work as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Emory Manor Nursing Home. She then moved on to become a visiting nurse for MCOSS. Finally, becoming a school nurse for Raritan High School in Hazlet, NJ from which she retired in 2013 after 26 years of service to the school. Maureen loved her family first and foremost. She was a dedicated wife, mother, Grandmoe, sister and friend. She was loved by all who met her. She made sure she spoke to her siblings regularly despite them living far away. She was active with the Boy Scouts Troop 49 and Venture Crew 49, continuing to serve as the fundraising chair despite her son having aged out of the scouts. She enjoyed social outings with the retired teachers union and camping trips with the scouts. She was a parishioner at Holy Innocents Church in Neptune. She was a member of the Monmouth County Emergency Reserve Corps. Maureen and Ron were active travelers traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and even around the world. She loved the beach with her family. Maureen was a fantastic cook and baker. She will be remembered most for her adventurous spirit, willingness to try anything, and loving unconditionally. Maureen is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Ronald Tegethoff, her children Amy Landosky and her husband Matthew of Brick, NJ and Steven Tegethoff and his wife Allie also of Brick, NJ, her grandchildren Gabriella, Emma Landosky, and Baby Tegethoff expected January 2017, and her brothers Thomas, Richard, John, and Kenneth McNamee and her sisters Peggy Torch, Patti Rogers, Bonnie Flynn, and Jan Sepcoski and their spouses. Visitation will be from 3:00PM-7:00PM on Sunday November 27, 2016 at the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ. A funeral mass will be on Monday at 10:30 am at Holy Innocents Church, 3455 West Bangs Ave., Neptune, NJ. Burial to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park 4201 NJ-33, Tinton Falls.
