Beatriz Blanco Arredondo

It is with profound sadness that our family mourns the loss of Beatriz Blanco Arredondo, 83, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 09, 2026. Beatriz was born in Bolivia and moved to Iowa City, Iowa, after marrying her devoted husband, Gaston Arredondo, in 1964. Together they moved to New Jersey in 1967 where they eventually settled in Middletown to raise their family. Beatriz was the center of our family, she instilled a strong foundation built on love, generosity, and the bond between us. We are truly blessed to call her our “Mima.” She was a bright light with a wonderful sense of humor that always had us laughing. We have cherished memories of our Mima and her loving husband, our Papa, dancing so gracefully and beautifully together throughout the years. Beatriz was a prolific poet who wrote deep, touching, heartwarming poems that we are lucky to be able to read and treasure forever. Beatriz’ wisdom and insight provided guidance and support to family and friends which will stay with us as we forge on. She was a woman of deep faith, never letting us part ways without receiving her blessing. She will live on in our hearts and in our memories, she will be missed very much. Beatriz had many dear friends. She held her friendships close to her heart, calling her friends “mis hermanitas.” She loved a good phone call and could spend the afternoon catching up with each friend, attentive to the ins and outs of their lives. She is predeceased by her parents, Guillermo Blanco and Karina Johannessen Blanco. Surviving is her loving husband of 61 years, Gaston Arredondo; her three children, Maria Lucas, Mario Arredondo (Rena Gordonson), Claudia Arredondo (Cristina Stummer); her four grandchildren, Zachary Major and Daisy Major, Emma Lucas and Ingrid Lucas; and her three siblings, Jorge Blanco (Hilda), Ana Maria von Borries (Ramiro, dec), and Jack Blanco (Elsie), and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at The Church of Saint Anselm in Tinton Falls on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11:00am, with visitation prior to mass at 10:30am.
