Obituario de Oscar Peña Oscar Peña, amado esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo, falleció pacíficamente el domingo 16 de marzo a las 6:13 p. m., a la edad de 85 años. Oscar fue un hombre que vivió su vida con amor por su familia, dedicación al trabajo, pasión por el fútbol y un profundo aprecio por la música. Nacido en Cali, Colombia, Oscar dedicó su vida a su familia y a su trabajo. Después de trabajar en el Banco de Colombia durante 5 años, Oscar decidió emigrar a Estados Unidos y ahorrar dinero para traer al resto de su familia. Posteriormente, trabajó como supervisor de línea de producción por 25 años en la compañía General Motors en Linden, Nueva Jersey. Oscar tuvo una pasión por el fútbol toda su vida y fue un fanatico del equipo Colombiano, Deportivo Cali. Su entusiasmo y amor por el Deportivo Cali era testimonio de sus raíces Colombianas y su devoción al deporte. La música fue otra de las grandes pasiones de Oscar. Era un gran aficionado a los clásicos de Javier Solís, Daniel Santos, Celia Cruz, La Sonora Matancera y muchos otros artistas legendarios de esa época dorada. Su hogar siempre rebosaba los sonidos de boleros, cumbia y salsa. La música le traía gran alegría y a menudo se le oía tararear sus canciones favoritas de su juventud. La vida de Oscar fue un testimonio de amor, pasión y dedicación. Lo extrañaremos profundamente, pero su familia y todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo lo recordarán por siempre. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Salomón Peña, y su madre, Judith Peña Palomeque; su hermana, Fabiola Peña Becerra, y su hermano, Salomón Peña. Le sobreviven su esposa, Gladys Peña, con quien estuvo casado durante 64 años; sus hermanas, Stella Peña y Gloria DeMico; su hija, Pilar Peña-Sánchez, y su esposo, Jorge Sánchez; su hijo, Javier Peña, y su esposa, Claudia Peña; su hijo, Harold Peña, y su esposa, Teresa Peña; y su hijo, Steven Peña. Nietos: Jorge Sánchez, Brandon, Ashley, Blaise, Tessa, Brayden y Anabella Peña, y bisnieta: Nylah Latalladi. Oscar was a man who lived his life with love for his family, dedication to work, a passion for soccer, and a deep appreciation for music. Born in Cali, Colombia, Oscar dedicated his life to his family and his work. After working in the Bank of Colombia for 5 year's Oscar made the decision to immigrate to the United States and save money to bring the rest of his family over to the US. He then served as a production line supervisor for 25 years at The General Motors Company in Linden, NJ. Oscar had a lifelong passion for soccer, and was an ardent supporter of the Colombian team, Deportivo Cali. His enthusiasm and love for Deportivo Cali was a testament to his Colombian roots and his devotion to the sport. Music was another of Oscar's great loves. He was particularly fond of the timeless classics of Javier Solís, Daniel Santos, Celia Cruz, La Sonora Matancera and many other legendary artists from that golden era. His home was always filled with the sounds of boleros, cumbia, and salsa. Music brought him great joy and he could often be heard humming his favorite tunes even later on in life. Oscar's life was a testament to love, passion, and dedication. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is predeceased by his father Salomon Peña and mother Judith Peña Palomeque; sister Fabiola Peña Becerra and brother Salomon Peña. He is survived by his wife of 64-year Gladys Peña; sisters Stella Peña & Gloria DeMico; daughter Pilar Peña-Sanchez and her husband Jorge Sanchez; son Javier Peña and his wife Claudia Peña; son Harold Peña and his wife Teresa Peña, and son Steven Peña. Grandchildren Jorge Sanchez, Brandon, Ashley, Blaise, Tessa, Brayden, and Anabella Peña, and great grand-daughter Nylah Latalladi. A celebration of Oscar’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at Bongarzone Funeral Home in Tinton Falls from 8 -10:15 am, where friends and family will gather to honor the man who gave so much to them all. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Wednesday March 19, 2025, at St Anthony of Padua Church, 124 Chestnut Street, Red Bank. Interment to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls.
