Arnold A Martins

Arnold Martins, 95, of Tinton Falls, passed away Saturday, October 31st at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Brukna, Latvia. He joined the United States army while in Germany after World War II and came to the United States in 1953. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He settled in Long Branch and lived there 48 years before moving to Tinton Falls. After being discharged from the army, he went to technical school and worked as an Electronics Technician at EAI for 35 years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He retired to take care of his grandchildren along with his wife Zina. He enjoyed reading, playing games, listening to music and spending time with family, including barbeques and sitting outside in the garden. Arnold was predeceased by his wife Zina (nee Berzins), sister Marija Krisjane, and parents Andrejs and Marta Bermartins. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Anthony) Cecilione of Tinton Falls, granddaughters Jennifer (Richmond, VA) and Kristen (Tinton Falls). He is also survived by his brother Janis Berzmartins of Riga, Latvia along with nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
