Edward Behrman

Edward Behrman died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at home, at The Seabrook Retirement Community in Tinton Falls. He was 90. Born in Brooklyn NY, he was a resident of Fair Lawn, NJ for 37 years before moving to Sarasota, FL. He returned to New Jersey nine years ago. After serving in the US Navy during WWII, he returned to marry his beloved Carol, in 1949. They were happily married for 66 years until her death, December 29, 2016. He received his bachelors degree from City College of New York and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was chief financial officer at Heisler Machine & Tool Co. until his retirement in 1991. He loved outdoor activities including bicycling and skiing, taking up the latter in middle age. He was a history buff and an avid reader. Growing up, he loved the Brooklyn Dodgers until they broke his heart and moved to the west coast. Reluctantly, he followed the Yankees, and later became a devoted fan. What he enjoyed most, was helping his wife with her successful career as an author, by being her sounding board, researcher and editor. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Carol. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Bonnie Behrman and Bernard Maisner of Bay Head, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law Drs. Joseph & Jeni Behrman of Pittsford, NY, his daughter Linda Beezer of Newburgh, NY, and his dear grandchildren Patrick and Luke Beezer, Matthew(Lindsey) and Jonathan Behrman and Rose Maisner. A memorial service will be held 11:30 am at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown under the direction of Bongarzone Funeral Home, Tinton Falls.
