She was mother to Deborah Sfraga and Lisa Van Horn of Sea Bright, NJ and Gerard and Lori (Miller) Morano, of Tinton Falls, NJ. She was a loving and attentive grandmother to Philip Sfraga and Samantha Ciesmelewski of Shark River, NJ; Ryan Van Horn and Deanna Tropea of Neptune City, NJ; Alexandra Morano and Justin MacArthur of Richmond, VT; Jeffery Sfraga of Belmar, NJ; Emily Van Horn of Brooklyn, NY; Christopher Morano of Tinton Falls, NJ; and Michael Morano of Tinton Falls, NJ. A graduate of Montclair University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Masters in Reading, she went on to earn a Professional Diploma in Reading, Teacher of the Handicapped and LDTC certifications and finally, a doctorate in Language and Literacy from Fordham University in 1993. She rigorously taught English and Reading at Elizabeth High School for more than 25 years and Writing at Monmouth University, Long Branch, NJ. She lovingly tended and spent many happy hours in her beautiful Tinton Falls garden, practiced Tai Chi, addictively played computer Solitaire, and read voraciously. She was always ready for a last-minute, good car trip. She was a faithful and active parishioner of the Church of St. Anselm in Tinton Falls, where she was also a Stephens Minister and Lector.
