George David Lockwood

George David Lockwood, 72, of Oceanport, NJ, died July 23, 2009 at Care One King James, Atlantic Highlands. He was born in Red Bank and graduated from Rumson High School in 1955, and attended Monmouth Jr. College. He served in the Army National Guard from 1954 – 1960 and the Army Reserves from 1960-1962. He worked for E.A.I. as a Draftsman-Designer, was a Real Estate Salesman with Walker and Walker and was a Buyer for NuData/Intco, retiring in 2001. George loved fishing and woodworking. He was always available to help anyone that needed it and was known as one of the “good guys.” He was predeceased by his parents, George W. and Catherine Lockwood, his brothers-in-law, William Landis and Edwin Gustafson. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Lillian, his children, Allison and Michael Mahon, Oceanport, George Lockwood Jr., Aberdeen and Gregory and Kathryn Lockwood, Oceanport, his grandchildren, who he cherished, Kristen, Michael and Andrew Mahon, David, Sarah and Mackenzie Lockwood. Also surviving are his sister, Catherine Landis, Atlanta, Ga., his Aunt and Uncle, Kenneth and Margaret Lockwood, Fair Haven, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margit and Henry Gregerson, Monmouth Beach, and many nieces and nephews.
