Joseph J. McCarthy age 56 of Shrewsbury passed away suddenly on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Joe was born in Brooklyn, raised in the Bronx and has been a resident of Shrewsbury, NJ since 1998. He was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School and attended Westchester Community College. One of his first positions was working in the medical records department at Albert Einstein Hospital in the Bronx He was a specialist on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for 25 years where he was employed by Scholl and Levin, Equitrade Partners, Speer Leeds and Kellogg and Goldman Sachs. He was currently trading stocks at Legend Securities in Staten Island for the past two years. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret (nee Fee) and is survived by his wife of 19 years, Geraldine, 8 year old twins, Adeline and Belle, his father Joseph, two sisters Kathy Kundmueller and Theresa McCarthy and niece Kelly Court. He is also survived by seven brother-in laws and 5 sister in laws and eighteen additional nieces and nephews. Joe was a wonderful, loving father and husband. He loved to go bowling. The New York Yankees was his team. Joes pride and joy was spending time with his father every Sunday visiting in the Bronx. He was truly devoted to his children. He attended every single soccer, basketball and softball game that Addie & Belle ever had. He was recently pleased by his daughters making the Lincroft Lady Knight travel softball team. Joe was a true giver. Joe always put others before himself and was a voice of reason. He was a great baker and loved to share his recipes with everyone. He was a man of class and a beautiful person. He had a heart bigger than life. He was a magical man. Joe was the most quiet, humble person that I think you have ever met. To know him, was to love him.
