Theresa Huelster

Theresa Huelster, 90, of Ocean Township, passed away on Thursday February 15, 2018 at the Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Terasina Guiliano was born on October 17, 1927 in Ozone Park, Queens, NY, where she spent most of her life. Theresa as she would be called, was the fifth of six children to Assunta and Aniello Guiliano. Theresa’s deceased brothers were Joseph, Salvatore, Romeo and Ralph. Theresa has a surviving younger sister, Isabella or Chubby as she is known to everyone. Theresa left school after the 6th grade from Nativity, BVM School in Ozone Park. Theresa, with many of her family members, worked in various Garment Center businesses. Theresa, being head strong and independent did not get married until 1960, to William Huelster who was introduced to Theresa by her brother Ralph. Theresa and William had two children together, Billy and Alice. Theresa was an amazing Mother, protecting her children, while teaching them how to love, forgive, work hard, accept and pray to the Lord. Theresa worked various jobs, but her primary job was raising her children. Theresa's home was always welcoming to everyone, where she made guests feel comfortable all the time. She was a great cook and loved to make people happy. Theresa was a very spiritual and religious lady, devoted to the Sacred Heart and the Blessed Mother. Theresa was involved in many community activities in South Ozone Park and very dedicated to her local parish, Our Lady Of Perpetual Help. Theresa had 4 adoring Grandchildren: Richard and Alice's children, Matthew and Michelle; and Billy and Maria's children, Michael and Nicole. Theresa absolutely adored her Grandchildren, and like her children, there was nothing that she wouldn't do for them to make them happy. Their joy was her joy. Theresa was someone who if you met one time, you felt blessed to meet. She had a warm and magnetic personality. Theresa never refused to help anyone in need, be it friend, family or stranger. Later in life Theresa moved to New Jersey to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Theresa was always busy doing laundry, preparing wonderful meals or just being an inspirational parent and grandparent. If you knew Theresa you loved Theresa. Visitation will be held 2 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM on Friday, February 16 at Bongarzone Funeral Home, Tinton Falls, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 17 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, West Islip, NY. Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
