Joanne Dellanno

Joanne LaRock Dellanno was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and grew up in Piscataway with her parents, four sisters, and grandparents across the street.They loved to garden and cook, which has been instilled in her family to this day. She attended Middlesex County College, and worked in administration and retail. She met her husband Thomas at their job at Bamberger's at the Monmouth Mall, where he worked reupholstering furniture and she worked in administration. They fell in love and married in 1981, and were married for almost 33 years before she became widowed in 2014. Family was everything to her, as her greatest honor, privilege and joy in life was raising her two children Tommy and Kristin, and many pets throughout her life. The family loved traveling to visit her sisters every summer and Joanne was always up for a trip to NYC, Atlantic City, Amish Country or anywhere in between. As long as good conversation, close connections, and a good meal with a Blue Moon were in the cards, she was happy. She loved music and art, with favorites being Earth Wind and Fire, Neil Young, and many more. Her hobbies included baking anything with chocolate, cooking Sunday sauce, knitting, and drawing. Joanne enjoyed spending time with her church, Saint Thomas AME in Tinton Falls, where they did much fundraising and community outreach. She also loved attending The Shore House in Long Branch where she worked in the kitchen and participated in many community activities. She was overjoyed to welcome her first and only grandson just five months ago as the newest "light of her life." Joanne was loved deeply and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She is predeceased by her parents Mary Cillis LaRock and Vincent LaRock, sister Teresa LaRock Espitallier, husband Thomas Dellanno Jr. and son Thomas Dellanno III. She is survived by her daughter Kristin Dellanno McCabe, son-in law Billy McCabe, grandson Gavin McCabe, and sisters Rosemary Hartmann, Virginia LaRock, Elizabeth LaRock, and many loving extended family members and friends.
