Matthew J. Zorner

Matthew James Zorner, of Westampton Twp., NJ, passed away on May 5, 2023, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA after a brief illness. Matt was born February 11, 1984, to Paula and Barry Zorner in Hackensack, NJ. As a young child, Matt’s family moved from Wood-Ridge, NJ to Tinton Falls, NJ, where he met his wife Danielle in 2000 at Monmouth Regional High School. They dated for 8 years and were married on November 15, 2008. Together they have one son, Joshua born in 2011. Matt worked hard to make sure they were taken care of and felt loved every day. Matt received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, History, and Political Science from Monmouth University in 2008 and was employed at Rees Scientific as a Technical Support Manager, where he was known for his dedication and knowledge. He also had a great sense of humor and made people laugh with his jokes, videos, and stories during lunch breaks. He was a kind, loving, and generous man who was always willing to help someone out when they needed a hand. He was always ready with a smart quip or funny joke to lift your spirits when you were down. He loved being a dad and an uncle more than anything else. He was a big kid at heart, and he enjoyed spending time with his four nieces. He always made them laugh and feel special. Matt loved the beach, having spent many happy summers at his family’s beach house. He enjoyed traveling, watching his beloved Carolina Panthers and New York Mets, playing video games, and was an all-around movie/entertainment buff. He enjoyed going down YouTube “rabbit holes” learning about anything from how sushi is made to how to do home repair. Matt’s family will always remember him with love and gratitude. He leaves behind his wife Danielle, who was his partner for 14 years, his son Joshua, who was his pride and joy, and his two dogs Sonic and Bucky. He also had a large and supportive extended family, including his parents Barry and Paula Zorner, his brother Michael and his wife Claire Zorner and their three girls Amelia, Ainsley, and Adeline, his father and mother-in-law Lyle and Gayle Worsley, his sister-in-law Jessica and her husband Charles Bond and their daughter Aubrey, his Aunt Christy and cousin Christopher Yuhasz, his Uncle Rudy and Aunt Dolores Angelino, and his cousin Barbara Mahoney. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 11, 2023, from 4pm-8pm at Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:00AM at the Church of St. Anselm, 1028 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712. There will be no visitation Friday before mass, the family has requested for everyone to go directly to church. Burial to follow at the First Baptist Church of Laurelton Cemetery, 1824 NJ-88, Brick, NJ 08724. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
