Our History

Our History

Anthony J. Bongarzone has been a licensed funeral director since 1984. Anthony was born and raised in Long Branch, NJ. He earned his degree in Mortuary Science from the American Academy McAllister Institute in New York City. He has worked at Migliaccio Funeral Home (Bayonne, NJ) and at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home (Toms River, NJ).

Our History

After residing in Tinton Falls, NJ in 1988 to raise a family with his wife, Grace Mahon Bongarzone, Anthony had a dream to one day open Tinton Falls’ first and only funeral home. This dream was almost forgotten after the loss of their daughter, Daniela, in 1998. With the help of his wife, their four children; Regina, Colleen, Anthony and Rachael, his brother-in-law, Glenn Mayer, and sister-in-law, Cathy Mahon Mayer, along with many others, Bongarzone Funeral Home was created and dedicated to the memory of Daniela Grace Bongarzone.

Our History

Having gone through the experience of a loss, as many of you have and are going through, we realize the value of the funeral process and how very important a funeral home is to its community. You can be truly comfortable calling upon the Bongarzone Funeral Home, because you’re not going to be dealing with a large, impersonal corporate staff. Rather you’ll be connecting with members of a loving family – who recognize the deep pain of loss through professional training tempered by personal experience. We will listen closely to your stories, provide information when we see the need, and help you to arrive at decisions you can be pleased with for years to come.
